Install KACE SMA Agent for Windows

The KACE SMA Agent is an application that can be installed on devices managed by the KACE SMA to enable inventory reporting and other device management features. You can add the KACE Agent Windows app to the KACE Cloud Apps Library and deploy it to applicable devices, as needed.

To install the KACE Agent:

  1. Obtain a copy of the KACE Agent installer from the KACE SMA machine.

    You can find the MSI installation file in the following directory: \\<appliance_host_name>\client\agent_provisioning.

  2. Go to the Libraries tab.
  3. Click the Apps icon.
  4. Choose Add New > Uploaded App (.ipa, .msi, .pkg, .apk).
  5. Select the MSI file containing the KACE Agent installer (downloaded in step 1).
  6. Click Add.
  7. Select the newly added KACE Agent app.
  8. In the right panel, choose Edit > Edit App Details.
  9. In the Command Line field, type the following information:

    HOST=<KACE_SMA_server> TOKEN=<KACE_Agent_token>

    Where:

    • KACE_SMA_server is the IP or FQDN of your KACE SMA server.
    • KACE_Agent_token is the KACE Agent token. You can copy the token string from the KACE SMA Agent Token Detail page:

  10. Click Save app.

After installation, verify that the agent app is communicating with the KACE SMA server.
